I looked through all the catalogs but could not find any seats that I liked for models 1986 to 2003, so I decided to 3d laserscan the seat area and design my own seatbase.

I sent the CAD file off to the 3d printer and proceeded to install the BurlyBrand suspension lowering kit I bought

The kit from Burly had 10.5" rear shocks whereas the stock ones were 13", the kit also came with new internals for the forklegs. I was not happy with the stance, the rear was too low and the front not low enough....

I changed the rear shocks to some 12" ones from a Norton and lowered the front forks 1" more. Now I like the stance!

As the stock rear fender was full of mounting holes that I was not going to use, I saved some time by trimming an aftermarket fender to size. This way Adele will still be able to ride with the stock fender while the new parts are getting painted. I will do the same fro tank and front fender, The threaded inserts make for quick and easy assembly, no fiddling with nuts between the tire and fender.

The printed seatbase is ready to be upholstered, tank and front fender are on the way. Motone (whom I design a lot of parts for) donated a Belair taillight and some mini indicators that are also on the way, thanks Sam! Adele has picked the color so let's see if I can get it ready for the next season!
