Project started October 2023,

We finished the rear exhaust and started on the front one. We bought the squished bit that goes between engine and frame but ended up modifying it so much we might as well have started from scratch.. To begin with the mounting tab interfered with the S&S oilpump so we cut that off, We shortened both the rear of the squished pipe and the front of the muffler to get the muffler to fit where we wanted.

In several areas the pipe was touching the crankcase so we used heat and hammer to give it clearance. We wanted the squishpipe and muffler welded together but they had different diameters and the cross section of the squishpipe was not very round at all.

We added an extra mounting point for the muffler and replaced the 2 nuts with a drilled and tapped strip. After carefully aligning the mufflers with eachother we kept on massaging the squishpipe with hammer and heat untill the parts lined up perfectly and nothing was touching anything that it should not touch...

Aad welded muffler and squishpipe together using backing gas, the welds will be cleaned up later as next week we will make the front part of the front pipe using sand bending for a nice flowing radius...
