Project started October 2023,

In part 36 we made a template for the beltplate and measured the coordinates of all joles using the Bridgeport. Using these I designed the new beltplate, which I printed out full scale before making it in steel. Again using the coordinates measured earlier we sdtarted by drilling all the holes in a 6 mm steel plate

We machined the big hole and cut the rest on the Doall bandsaw. On the engine side there is a spacer that we made on the lathe, and there is a spacer block on the transmission side.

All the parts were welded together, the boltheads on the engine side were countersunk and the part was ready. Next was drilling the clutch housing, inspired by Roman Vaugnoux's work but drilled in a different pattern than he uses. If you don't know his work check him out on Insta here , I love his work!
Ofcouse to figure out the hole pattern I used the CAD model

After drilling 112 holes and chamfering all the edges we installed the belt and clutch. The clutch is a Competitor clutch by the way, same as on Cadbike 1
Next we will start making the primary covers, or maybe we will work on the Indian Girder forks first, we'll see
