Project started October 2023,

The little aluminium plate in the first pic is how much thicker the centerpiece of the front beltpulley needs to be to line up perfectly. In the last episode I showed a pic of a thicker one we wanted to use but that turned out to be a Primo part and the pully is a BDL so it did not fit. We decided to make a new part with the correct thickness.

This was a good opportunity to use the "shaping attachment" on the Bridgeport to cut the splines. The actual cutting tool was made by Aad. It actually worked perfectly!

The inside plate of the pully needed to be modified a bit and Aad welded that to the new pulley center. Now that the belt was lined up perfectly we will make a steel plate between engine and transmission that will add strength and also be the start of the inner primary cover that we will also be building from scratch

We made a mockup part from some scrap metal just to get all the hole positions in relation to eachother. The mockup part was then measured using the Digital Readout on the Bridgeport. Using these coordinates I made a design for the beltplate, which we will make next time.
