Project started October 2023,

As announced last week, this time we will focus on reconnecting the seattube to the framerails. The idea is to make something similar to stock, but cleaner haha. I did not want the 2 plates to wrap around the tubes as far as they do on a stock frame, where they visually interrupt the line of the lower framerails. Also the welds on stock frames in that area are pretty terrible...

Using my fullsize prints as a guide we faricated some nice curved plates. The lower one can be welded both on the top and bottom, the upper one only on top but still plenty strong. As the bike will sit pretty low we made sure nothing sticks out beneath the frtamerails.

The top plate was cut in half to get it in place, the weld between the halves was fully cleaned so it was not visible. The rest of the welds were done with MIG so they would look similar to the stock welds on old frames. But nicer.

Next we will add the 2 curved tubes near the neck and after that we will work on the seat area.
