Project started October 2023,

Happy New Year! Our plan is to build a swingarmchopper but keeping the line from neck to rear axle similar to the line of a hardtail, we have been cutting up an old swingarm frame to use some of the castings and are making the rest from scratch. The forks in the drawing are girders styled after the Indian ones, it will be either this or a narrow springer

As explained earlier we will be adding "sleeves" to the neck and creating the look of a casting while adding extra strength, but first we tackled the seatpost which had a big dent in it. We removed the damaged part and machined a replacement piece that slides in the existing part. Having a separate piece also made it easier to notch for the top tube.

We used the Bridgeport for notching but this can also be done with a holesaw or even with an angle grinder and a file, but I have to say this gave a very nice result. We used the same method for the sleeve of the top tube.

Next week we will try to finish the neck , we are going slow but steady haha
