This will be my main ride again this summer, allthough I was
quite happy with it there were a few small things I updated this
winter, starting with the footpegs. The old ones were picked by
the previous owner Harry and did not fold up. On a low bike like
this, that can be an issue because when they touch the ground
in a sharp corner they might cause me to loose grip on the rear
tire and topple over. Not good.
I got a set of classic footpegs, and remade the hinge parts
so they can double as the pivots for the pedals. I gave them the
acid and oild treatment so that they would match the rest of the
bike, problem solved!
Another modification was that I extended the clutch arm
and the outer cable holder, this makes the clutch lighter to
operate, especially nice when getting stuck in traffic jams
which happened a few times last year....
The only other thing I did was change the rearview
mirror ( for the third time!) as on the previous version I lost
all 3 of the little screws holding the head to the stem. So once
more with Loctite this time!
There, I am ready for summer!
