First Aad is making the tank into 1 piece, later we will cut
an opening to access the battery, fuelpump, coil etcetera. Once
again the tank is pieced together making cardboard templates
and tracing them onto sheetmetal. The pieces are cut out roughly
with an angle grinder with a very thin disc, then each piece
is beltsanded to the right size.
A hammer and beaterbag are used to shape the pieces, we use
birdshot in the bag by the way. As you can see in the last picture
some parts of the existing tank were so thin they will need
to be cut out and replaced, that can be expected using a 27
year old tank as a basis, definitely NOT made in Taiwan though!
