Project started October 2023,
A while ago we started on the hydraulic clutch conversion; on a stock style kickstartcover we removed the hole for the clutch arm and drilled a center hole where the clutch pushrod is located. We found a small suitable master cylinder and made a test setup to determine what diameter we would need for the piston in the cover. We want the piston to move about 2 mm when operating the master cylinder.

We tucked away the master cylinder behind the primary and then turned our attention on the kickstarter cover again. The idea is to weld in a bar of alumium, so that the whole thing can be held in a lathe for machining, then cut off the extra material when all machining is done.

The aluminium bar was machined 0.05 mm oversized, after heating the cover it dropped right in and after cooling was firmly in place. The whole cover was heated again before welding, next time we will do the machining and finishing of the cover.
