Project started October 2023,

To maximize oil capacity and to make room for the rear exhaust we decided to convert to hydraulic clutch. Also this will make mounting the oiltank a lot easier. There are some hydraulic covers available but they all look too "billet" for a knucklehead, so we are converting the stock kicker cover. (it was already a reproduction so we are not butchering a classic part)

We removed the pivot bushings of the clutch arm pivot by heating up the cover, then ground away all the unneeded material inside the cover. Aad welded up the hole in the top and smoothed the cover to look like it was never there.

We made a sharpened rod that fits all the way through the transmission mainshaft, after mounting the cover we gently tapped the rod from the other side of the bike to mark the where the center of the hydraulic piston will be.

Next week we will continue work on the oiltank or maybe finish the hydraulic clutch first, we will see...
