After extending the rear and "crowning"
the flat area where the gascap used to be, we eyeballed the
tank on the frame and decided to lower the front about 19 mm
( 3/4") . Aad then proceeded to finish welding the patch
we put in the front where the original high tunnel used to be.
We wanted a V shape in the bottom of the
tank so using a laser line we scribed off where the sides needed
to be cut. We then bent some wire in the shape we wanted for
the tank bottom including new low tunnel.
We fabricated a simple bender
to make this piece and will hopefully weld this all together
next time, but first there is more planishing to do to make
the top shell perfect before welding!
