In the first pic, from top to bottom first and second printed prototype and then the finished part. With that finished I added the plug wires, just plain black ones as I don't want them to stand out. Trying to make the bike as clean as possible...

The next challenge is the throttle cable, the bike already has internal throttle so I drilled a hole in the bottom of the handlebars where the throttle cable comes out, after which it will disappear in the gap between tank and frame. That is the only part of it that will be visible by the way. Now to connect the throttle cable to the Linkert carb, this is a bit tricky. The part where it needs to be mounted is directly under the motormount and pretty imossible to reach for adjustments with the tanks mounted, so I came up with the idea to replace the motormount nut with a part that has little shaft in it and some balljoints. The cable will run along the toptube and can be adjusted from under the bubbledash. (see the screenshots of the CAD parts)

I started with a leftover piece of 316 stainless steel, to make the big radius I used the CAD software to dimension 20 points along the radius and then manually machined to these points on my lathe, which is not CNC but does have a digital readout (DRO) so after maybe 10 minutes I had the "ball" machined with the 20 steps. Then in the lathe I used finer and finer grit untill it was smooth. To be continued...
