It is very difficult to make a small aluminum weld, so the plan was to place all the welds strategically and just grind off the extra material.. The engine sides of the manifolds were made from solid aluminum on the lathe and the flange was rounded off by Aad using a file(!!) In the mean time the other manifold prototype arrived and I bolted both prototype manifolds ( made of ABS plastic) onto the bike. Hmmm, good thing I did not position the footpegs yet because legroom will be a bit less than I had hoped.
