Okay, after looking at the front pipe for a couple of weeks, I decided that seen from the front it just looks too messy, so I started over... Using a few leftover bits of stainless pipes we made a quick mockup of the front pipe, looks a lot like the front pipe I accidentally smashed in November 2001, only this time it will be tucked up as close to the frame as possible for maximal ground clearance. This means the brakepedal will also have to be moved out of the way, and that it will take even longer before this bike is back on the road. It does look a lot better though, and I can see more of the engine now!

After several modifications the beginning of the pipe and the flange looked pretty sloppy, so we amputated that bit and after some quick brainstorming decided to machine a new pipe flange out of solid 316 stainless, starting at one and three quartes of an inch and tapering out to 2 inches, creating a reversion dam on the inside for added performance. This new bit fits so well and looks so much better that we will have to repeat the process for the rear pipe, damn!
