We decided to put the number 49 in polished stainless "floating"
in the oiltank, so I made some CAD drawings and had the number
49 waterjet cut in 8 mm thick stainless steel plate, and the
background in 1.5 mm mild steel. Aad machined some little standoffs
to create a bit of distance between the 49 and the background
Aad shaped the sides of the cavity in 12 mm wide strip and
after welding and testing for leaks cut a big hole in the side
of the oiltank. Still a lot of cleaning up and polishing to
do, next week we continue!
