This week we finally found some time to work on Aad'd Cadbike 31 again, we are fabricating new internals for the dummy right tank half which is actually the electronics compartment. All the components will be mounted on this 4 mm stainless steel plate, which is rubbermounted inside the tank. Our mission for this week was to make this plate a bit lighter and better looking.

I sketched out some shapes that Aad bandsawed out of the plate. As the bandsaw is a closed loop Aad had to saw through the sides to reach the openings, and then weld the "access cuts" closed again. After sawing all the openings were filed smooth and with the help of more files and a Dremel grinder all the edges were rounded before polishing.
