WEBER IDF CARBS

I checked the carb and manifold to see how they fit: perfect! Then I
took the whole set off again so we could finish the details. The throttle
wheel that Aad made last week worked fine, now it needed some
detailing so we chamfered the center to make the shaft nut easier to
reach and we rounded the outside edges and polished the whole thing.
We used the return spring that came with the carb but carefully bent
open the little hook at the end so that we could stick the end in a small
hole that we drilled in the back of the throttle wheel, looks clean!

I polished the welds of the manifold mounts and the throttle cable
holder, then polished the whole manifold again and Harry's manifold
was finished! Then we started on the manifold for my own bike that
needed to be about an inch shorter than Harry's manifold, because
Harry's engine is offset 1 inch and mine is not. We used an S&S E
manifold and ground off the ears so we can weld the manifold
bends directly on it, creating a one-piece manifold.

23 feb: We completed welding on my own ultra-short manifold and
on 2 manifolds for 3,5 gallon tanks. Next week we will polish the
manifolds, make more throttle-wheels and start bending stainless
steel fuellines for my bike.
