We put a 21" tire on the table in the position where it will be mounted to get a visual.
Ok, nice! Now where were we? Well, using the Pullmax to make the wheelcovers did not work, so now we are working on plan B. Metalspinning. We started by making all the necessary tools, basically 2 long levers (one of them with a nylon wheel), a buck with the inside shape of the wheelcover, and a bar with holes to put the levers in. We finished both levers first.

 
 
 

Next on the list, we need a buck, which is just something with the shape of the inside of the cover to press the metal against. Johan Heemskerk (pic below) donated a nice chunk of steel which was just perfect for the job.


 
 
 
 

So the buck was CNC machined directly from the contour I had designed, took a few hours, and in the next episode you will find out if plan B actually worked....
