Well, here we are, 5 years later, and I have decided to enter the BMW in the AMD World Championship of Custombike Building. It is the first time this event is being held in Europe and will also probably be the last time I enter this bike in a show. (unless I get invited to the Mooneyes Hotrodshow in Yokohama ofcourse...) I know the bike has already been seen by a lot of people but it was always a dream of mine to have it compete in the World Championships. Besides, it will be fun!

I will be doing a couple of upgrades on the bike and this is one of them; I always thought the billet machined battery cover looked out of place on a classic style bike so we have been casting a new one. First I designed it in CAD and made a 3D print of it.

I cut up some old cast aluminum parts from my scrappile and went to my friend Aad Heemskerk who still had a bunch of casting sand left over from when we cast his swingarm. Compared to that this was easy! Next week we will hollow them out and complete the new/old battery box.
