After machining the brakeshoe pivot studs to the correct diameter and pressing them into the "built-from-scratch" brakeplate I mounted all the internal parts to check for fit. I cut a new stainless steel mesh for inside the scoop, Aad machined some flat bronze washers to keep the brakeshoes from scraping the inside of the brakeplate.

I removed all the parts and after sketching with a magic marker I began removing all the excess material from the inside to save some weight, to be continued.....
