A CAD-drawing I did of the pipes I originally wanted to make,
for more drawings see CAD-bikes

Last year I started without baffles, got busted the first time I went riding... Then
I added a pair of baffles, the sound was too soft and the bike was a lot slower,
so I drilled holes in the baffles untill I had the perfect
combination.
We cut a section out of the first baffle so it would fit past the dinple we made for
the shock-absorber. We mounted the baffle in the rear pipe, then welded it in
place by welding full a hole we had used previously to bolt in the baffle.
Aad machined an exhaust tip with a thick rounded edge, we welded it on and
cleaned up the welds, now the baffle is a permanent part of the pipe.

We decided to finish the rear pipe completely first, then bolt on the rear pipe
and the rear section of the front pipe, then finally complete the mid part of the
front pipe. We machined 4 stainless lugs that we welded to the rear of the pipes
so that the mounts would be invisible from the side. On the front pipe we mounted
the baffle before welding in the cutout for the shock. That turned out to be a lot
smarter than how we did it with the rear pipe. This time the pipes are exactly
parallel with the frame and with eachother.

We fabricated a weird looking bracket from some aircraft-quality aluminum and
when everything was bolted on to the frame we tack-welded the missing pieces
in place. I think I will leave the pipes like this for a week or so, and do some
work on the gastank first. I really like the rear pipe, but still have some doubts
about the front pipe.....
