In the last update we made a rear fender, now we need to make a place to mount a sissybar. We want the axle plates to look like castings, so the mounting tabs have to look like they are one piece with the "castings"

 
 

I made a CAD drawing of what I had in mind and we fabricated the tabs from a scrap piece of 8 mm strip and a piece of roundbar. Material costs zero, but almost a day's work.....

 
 

Lots of grinding, welding, more grinding, filing and sanding and the tabs were in place. In the last pic you can see how we made a small diameter wheel for the bending machine, this was needed for the top bend in the sissybar, to be continued....

 
 
We could not resist taking the bike off the table and rolling it outside to get a good look, always good for motivation! Now back on the table to continue!
