After discarding at least five previous designs,
I finally came up with a design I like for CAD Bike 31. We decided
to cast the legs of the swing arm in aluminum, so I devided
the CAD model into more than 50 sections; each 18 mm thick.
I printed all the sections in full size on ordinary printer
paper and Aad glued these onto some pieces of MDF and used the
bandsaw to cut them out. As I am writing this the glue is drying,
this week Aad will sand the wooden leg to the correct shape
and coat it with clear lacquer. This will be our positive mold
or pattern for casting. Stay tuned!
