We fabricated
a very low but strong hinge, so the front of the seat would
fit between the frame tubes instead of on top of them. We drilled
some holes in the frame where the seatsprings would be attached,
and welded in some threaded bungs. Then we machined some black
nylon parts that screw into these bungs, allowing the seat to
be lifted to accesss the oilfilter while at the same time they
prevent the seat springs from rattling and also make sure that
if Harry hits a big bump the seat will never hit the fender.
Next week we fabricate new stainless steel pipes for Harry's
bike.
